The Waterside Theatre hosts a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music, cinema and children's theatre.
The new Jan – April 2018 programme is underway, starting with the Ulster Orchestra performance Travels in Time. There is a great variety of music at the theatre this season including Chamber Philharmonic Europe, Musical Moments from Fresh Academy and Britannia Concert Band & Dundonald Community Concert Band production of Music from the Movies. There are also fantastic tribute bands including Jive Talkin, the very best Bee Gees tribute band, The Bob Dylan Band, R.E.M by Stipe, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Paradise, with over 40 classic rock ‘n’ roll songs featuring the country’s best tributes to the era’s biggest icons.
There are also some thought provoking cinema with Accidental Anarchist, a film trying to answer the question so many people today are asking – isn’t there a better way? The End of the Game is a film focusing on the oddball relationship of a big game hunter and a vegan filmmaker and for Easter there are Family Easter Movies, enjoy some quality family time with blockbuster family movies – at great value that won’t break the bank! The theatre has lots of family theatre this season, starting with the Princess Concert Ball! There is also Humpty Dumpty’s Big Egg Venture, a live interactive all singing and dancing production and Dr Zeiffal, Dr Zeigal and the Hippo that Can never be Caught!, a fun filled family show for all ages.
Imperialism on Trial welcomes everyone to an exceptional night of alternative global politics. Back by popular demand is the very best of psychic talent, Michael Henry, The Seventh Son. Adrian Knight – Comedy Hypnotist also returns this season to the Waterside Theatre with a completely mindblowing new show. Nephew of the late Paul Daniels, James Phelan Trickster Tour is a unique magical prank show that is both jaw-dropping and laugh out loud funny – don’t miss this hilarious show were anything can happen! The International School for Peace Studies is having a Tea Dance to commemorate the end of World War 1 and there is also local drama by Eddie Kerr, One Night Stands, based in the dancehalls in 1961.
