Great Variety for Summer 2017 at Waterside Theatre

The Waterside Theatre hosts a range of quality arts and entertainment throughout the year such as drama, dance, comedy, live music, cinema and children's theatre.  It also produces an extensive Education Programme.

The new summer May – August 2017 programme is underway.  A wide range of excellent shows are on offer to entice audiences into the Waterside theatre, over the summer months!

Music kicks off the season at the Waterside Theatre with Rebecca O’Connor as Tina, Simply the Best! In the words of Tina Turner herself, “Rebecca is so good, it’s scary”.  Rebecca is the only artist in the world to be personally endorsed by the superstar.  Don’t miss her first appearance in Northern Ireland!

Children’s shows at the Waterside Theatre have never been better with the Hidden Treasures Children’s Theatre Festival, starting with Treasure Island, the musical version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic novel.  It continues with Magic of the Mummy Tales of Ancient Egypt, possibly the most famous of all the Egyptian myths and The History of Tom Thumb, an escapade of gigantic proportions!  It’s also Jo Jingles birthday so we have Jo’s Birthday Boogie!  Starcamp Summer Camp is running from the 3rd – 7th July, the ultimate, all- encompassing summer camp experience, that is so much more than a performing arts camp.  We have cinema starting with Star Wars Day – with screenings of “the original three and throughout July and August we will be showing Summer Movies for Kids and classics from The Rogers & Hammerstein Collection.

There is great drama with God’s Official, Robert Farquhar’s hilarious farce by Shindig Theatre Company and also comedy gold with Gary Delaney – this is your chance to see the premier gag-smith of his generation LIVE!  Also don’t miss your chance to witness the story of Simon Yates – My Mountain Life, from his tireless journey from the mountain in Peru to some of the remotest mountains on the planet.
