Niamh Slack is a landscape artist, and particularly attracted to coastal and woodland scenes. Her paintings are about conveying this extraordinary beauty. Niamh's art is primarily about capturing the essence of those places that speak on a personal level, and strives to see colour in the seemingly 'mundane' and 'ordinary' around things around us. Niamh is influenced by the work of Irish artist Jack Yeats, and more recently by the art of Kenneth Webb. The colour, energy and movement in her brush and palette knife work have been greatly influenced by impressionists such as Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh.

The exhibition officially opens on Friday 3rd September, 6.30pm at Waterside Theatre, Glendermott Road, Londonderry, Tel: 028-7131-4000. It runs until 14th October 2010. It's free and all are welcome to attend!
