Great Variety for New Season 2012 at Waterside Theatre

It's a new year! - and there is a brand new exciting programme ahead from the Waterside Theatre to help get us through those gloomy winter months; with the theatre also offering its very popular extensive Education Programme of Art, Hip-Hop and Drama to keep the kids busy!!

With a capacity of 372, free on-site car-parking, disabled access, a full screen cinema, fully licensed cafe bar and lounge bar, this is the perfect venue for evening entertainment. The new January - April 2012 programme is now underway. A wide range of excellent shows from award winning drama, music, popular musicals and exhibitions are on offer to entice audiences into the Waterside theatre, with state of the art facilities!

There is a great variety of music for all tastes; from tribute acts such as MACK FLEETWOOD and an 80's musical journey, WHAT A FEELING to Irish folk by JIMMY CROWLEY, ‘cool country' from JUSTIN MCGURK, classic rock ‘n' roll from LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL and Scottish Christian singer/songwriter IAN WHITE. Also, THE GREASE & DIRTY DANCING SHOW, an all singing, all dancing show will have you out of your seat from start to finish!
There is an abundance of drama to choose from, including the 32nd CITY OF DERRY DRAMA FESTIVAL, nine nights of drama from the modern to the classic! Schools from all over the North West will partake in the NW IRISH LANGUAGE DRAMA FESTIVAL, now in its fifth year! Local writer Martin O'Brien will premiere his new play, TRUE COLOURS and there will be a brand new adaptation of Jane Austen's lively tale SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, as well as a modern re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, CAPULETS & MONTAGUES. Andrew Meller in addition also dons the famous cape and deerstalker and recounts some of the most famous cases with AN AUDIENCE WITH SHERLOCK HOLMES.

Cascade Gallery in the Waterside Theatre has different exhibitions from EITHNE ROBERTS from Co.Dublin with her works ‘Still' and Moroccan impressionist painter ELMADANI BELMADANI with his work ‘Colours of Moroccan Art'.
